PRODUCTION ZONE AND ALTITUDE: Calosso Province of
Asti at 400 metres. ORGANOLEPTIC CHARACTERIRISTICS: succulent, intense ruby-red
coloured wine with violet lights, a full and consistent bouquet scented with spices,
ripe fruit and vanilla, and a dry, strong, richly persistent flavor. Excellent
maturing capacity. GRAPE VARIETY: Barbera 100% Average bottles producted:
approximately 10.000 SOIL: limy tending towards clay pH 7.80 VINE DENSITY:
approximately 4500 per hectare Hl wine per hectare: 50 HARVEST: takes place
at the end of October according to traditional method with selection of the grapes. AGEING:
in French oak barrels (barriques) for approximately twelve months followed by
six months in the bottle. SERVING SUGGESTIONS: with roast meats, game and mature
cheeses. ALCOHOL CONTENT: in excess of 14% Vol. TOTAL ACIDITY: 5.50 PH:
